Bark Nation’s #KONGsgiving2016 – Arizona Humane Society

Bark Nation’s #KONGsgiving2016, in partnership with One Love Pit Bull Foundation, is headed to Valley animal shelters this Thanksgiving.

#KONGsgiving is an annual event that was launched to help promote canine mental and physical well-being though shelter enrichment initiatives.

This is the third annual KONGsgiving, but the first for Phoenix shelter pets.More than 2,000 homeless dogs from the Arizona Humane Society (AHS), Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC), and more than 10 Metro-Detroit shelters, will receive a special Thanksgiving Dinner stuffed, frozen KONG on Wednesday, November 23. More than 50 volunteers from the four animal welfare organizations will spend Sunday, November 20 cooking, preparing and stuffing 800 KONGS with a Thanksgiving feast complete with turkey, green beans and pumpkin. Volunteers and staff will then spend Wednesday morning, November 23 delivering KONGs to 800 shelter dogs.

This holiday season, as AHS shelter pets patiently await their loving families, you can help share a little holiday spirit. Your holiday gift provides food, medicine, toys, care and hope for the homeless pets who will be spending the holidays with us. Some pets don’t realize how great the holidays can be.
