Empty the Shelter Adoption Special : AHS’ Kennels Are Full!
Our shelter is overflowing with animals waiting for their forever homes. As of Thursday morning, we had nearly 400 dogs, cats and critters up for adoption, as another 165 animals patiently wait for an open kennel on the adoption floor. That doesn’t include the additional 293 cats and 97 dogs waiting in foster care. That’s a total of 944 homeless animals who are in need of a forever home.
The situation is urgent and we are committed to finding homes for as many animals as we can this weekend. Thankfully, we’re getting some help. An anonymous friend has generously agreed to donate up to $25,000 to help cover a large portion of every adoption fee, including free microchipping, this weekend!
From Friday, September 20th through Sunday, September 22nd, all adoption fees will be drastically reduced during our Empty the Shelter Adoption Special. Dog and puppy adoption fees are just $35 whereas cat and kitten adoption fees are only $25, and all critters are $15. All animals will receive a free microchip, and AHS will even throw in a 25-percent-off coupon to be used at either Petique at Biltmore Fashion Park or Pet Emporium retail locations.
“We are making this donation as much for awareness as we are ‘incentive,’” said our anonymous donor. “We want to spread the word that there are hopeful, sweet and loving dogs, cats and critters waiting for a second chance at a good life at AHS.”
“We also hope other people who love animals will consider making a similar gift to AHS,” our donor added. “You might not be able to adopt a pet, but you could make a donation to pay for a weekend of free microchipping or a day of reduced-cost adoptions. It’s an amazing way to experience the joy that pets bring to us and to save the lives of so many animals.”
We have so many wonderful pets who need homes. Pets like Disco Stu, Max, Fiona, Duncan, Chiple and Bandit. Help us empty the shelter and find your new family member this weekend! Please spread the word by forwarding this message to your friends and sharing our social media posts. Our animals our counting on you!
