Reunited After Nine Years!

When he was just a 6-month-old puppy, little Rex disappeared. Nine years later, he finally found his way back home.

In 2004, Rex, a white Maltese, was stolen from the McKirgan family’s house in Scottsdale. After an extensive search, Rex was still missing, presumably lost forever.

A month went by, then a year and five years, and still no Rex. Then, on April 15^th – nearly a decade later – Rex unbelievably was reunited with his loving family.

Rex was picked up by a Good Samaritan, who found him roaming the streets, and was turned into AHS as a stray. AHS staff located a microchip on Rex with information that was still current and was able to contact owner Robert McKirgan, who was thrilled to rescue his long-lost pup.

Rex was a little worse for wear since the last time Robert saw him, needing medical treatment for a chronic mouth infection. But Robert says Rex is doing great and is excited to have him back home.
